电影《死亡诗社》观后感英文版<三> (篇一)

First of all, this is movie is my all-time favorite, out of all the hundreds of films I have seen. Hoever, every time I mention this film, I have to anser most people's quizzical looks ith “It's a beautiful little 80s film that stayed in the 80s.” After seeing it for the 24th time since I first sa it 5 years ago, on my 13th birthday, I can gladly say that this movie ent far and beyond the 80s, and the poer and inspiration of the message can be felt every day.

Dead Poets Society is a most underrated film by a most underrated director hose inspiring, uplifting and moral tales firmly grounded in reality are not nearly as appreciated as they should be. Here, e see one of his very personal and cradled projects, and he shos the visual style and concentration on characters in hich he is so affluent. His control of the camera and the characters are very strong and very smooth. The cinematography is near perfect, ith every shot, along ith the editing, seamless. Also very compelling are the color-tones in every scene, perfectly matching the mood and events of the scene. Could you say this is art? Absolutely.

Then e have the performances. Robin Williams continues in stride as one ho has to-date remained the most touching, heart-renching, ae-inspiring comedians ith inarguable acting talent 。 His Professor John Keating is a man ho embodies every professor ho you thought as cool and respectable, every person ho taught or enlightened you in something out of the ordinary. In fact - dare I say it? - he teaches something EXTRAORDINARY! We have the tragically underrated Robert Sean Leonard in his role as the free-thinking catalyst student Neil. Why is this man not a household name/Hollyood heavyeight? His roles are alays full of inspiration, energy, and tragic emotion that never fail to move an audience. His role in this movie is fresh, unhindered, and never pretentious as the cautionary tale of the movie. And then e have Ethan Hake in one of his earliest roles as the point-of-vie character. The entire supporting cast is very strong, also, providing the foundation and serve as the various emotional ties that further involve us in the story. Josh Charles's role as Knox Overstreet is a role that almost all guys can relate to holeheartedly. And of course, all the actors ho are in that Dead Poets Society do a fine job.

And lastly, the story. I on't summarize it since it's been summarized many times here, but I ill say that it is one of the best coming of age stories for not only adolescents, but anyone. I have personally heard from nine-to-fivers ho ere inspired by this movie to change the situations of their jobs, careers, relationships for the better. I first sa this movie hen I as 13, and immediately stamped, croned and elevated this movie as my all-time favorite. No that I am 18 and living on my on, ith very different concerns than back then, I turn back to this movie over and over again, to find inspiration, solace and of course, entertainment. It is still my all-time favorite, and it still inspires me to seize the day and make my life extraordinary.

死亡诗社英文观后感 (篇二)

Im the first to admit that I get a little sappy hen riting about Dead Poets Society. I first sa the film during my senior year of high school, and 16 years later its a movie that is still ith me, one that I go back to time and time again.

Theres a little bit of formula at ork here: A stuffy rep school, 1950s, a collection of impressionable young boys, and a teacher that ill change their lives. But theres something at ork that turns hat could have been a forgettable, droll piece of saccharine storytelling into a classic. Part of it is Robin Williams as Mr. Keating, a young English teacher that uses poetry to teach them ho to "Sieze the day," to suck the marro out of life, as Thoreau put it.

The poetry angle is an interested and unexpected one. And riter Tom Schulman and director Peter Weir have no confusion that the idea is a little corny. Putting a kid in front of the class, covering his eyes, and forcing him to free associate until he comes up ith a verse about Walt Whitman? Sounds ridiculous, but it orks. In fact, its one of the most poerful scenes in the film.

Thats because the kids in the film are just as good as Williams is here. Robert Sean Leonard is the ostensible star as Neil, a deeply repressed lad hos the class president type yet dreams of doing something artistic, despite the insistence by his father (Kurtood Smith) that he become a doctor. And then theres roommate Todd Anderson (Ethan Hake), an intensely shy young man hos attending Welton Academy for the first time this year and ill be memorably brought out of his shell, fighting all the ay, by Keating. The other students of note -- Josh Charles as a lovesick kid and Gale Hansen as the unforgettable rebel "Nuanda" -- are equally apt.

Ultimately the film revolves around Neils story, hen he decides for the first time to defy his father and act in a local play -- as Puck, in A Midsummer Nights Dream, of all things. This leads to a series of catastrophic events that culminates in (spoiler alert from here on out) Neils suicide and the scapegoating/firing of Keating for it.

At once uplifting and emotionally crushing, theres no ay to leave this movie ithout anting to someho improve your life and follo Keatings advice by seizing the day. Every time I atch the film Im compelled to complete some lingering project, plan a trip, move into a ne house, or do something unforgettable. Weirs direction perfectly captures the 1950s mood -- an era of repression just on the verge of breaking ide open -- and Williams manages to keep his mania in check for the bulk of the film, trotting out an impression here or there hen the story requires it.

In recent years, Dead Poets Society has become a curious platform for deconstruction and revisionism. Vieers onder, among other things, hether Neil as so troubled because he as secretly gay. Whether Keating might genuinely be guilty of contributing to his death. Whether "Sieze the day" isnt such a great motto after all. Im not actually supporting any of these ideas per se, but the latter-day ruminating gives the film more eight than you might otherise think, and it makes the movie all the richer for it.

电影《死亡诗社》观后感英文版<四> (篇三)

Is Mr. Keating a good teacher? Frankly speaking, I am not sure about the anser this time. Before the movie started, I thought it’s easy to anser, because I had atched it tice in recent years.

I believe that most of us, have taken Mr. Keating as a hero of freedom, a arrior against conservatism and a romantic ith hope and enthusiasm. So it’s needless to say that I as inspired and convulsed again, but at the same time, hich is different from the former, I felt sad and frustrated ithout rhyme or reason, and in the end of the movie I can’t help sobbing and feeling aful in some sense because I’m not familiar ith the others and after all I’m a man and most of all, an adult.

All of these bad moods make me feel that Mr. Keating is not a good teacher, although he is a good person, an excellent poet and a brilliant ideologist. He succeeded in evoking the original sensation to freedom, individuality and love not only of most of the students in the WALE? School, but also of most of us, but the costs are tremendous, hich are already out of his control and even some of hich are out of his imagination. Kick lost his life, Noanda lost his future and Keating lost his career, his favorite career, maybe his confidence and happiness ere taken aay together, and I lost my former position, hich made me realized that I am not better than the headmaster. He and I are birds of a feather flock together, hich really made me feel pathetic and helpless.

I don’t kno hen it happened, that I got used to living in tradition and discipline, hich I still believe can bring me safety and a bright future. I really ant to “Yap” together ith Anderson and alk my on steps, taking the road of life as my on courtyard, even though Mr. Keating is Mr. Cheating or Mr. Kidding. After all, he helped us enjoy a scene of movement, hich is in a poerful and unconstrained style. It is paradoxical that I love the progress and hate the end.

电影《死亡诗社》观后感英文版<二> (篇四)

The movie is one of the most onderful films I have

ever be honest,I finished the film ith tears. When the boys stood on the desks one by one,and shouted:"Oh, Captain, my Captain."I could not help crying. It as really touching my heart.

The story happened in a school hich had 4 pillars----Tradition,Honor,Discipline, Keating,a ne teacher ho anted to change the ay in teaching. He told his students

to do hat they like to do and to enjoy themselves;to do thingsnot just obey the books, but to look at some-thing in another

ay,to consider on their minds and find ne ground. With the

fluence of Mr Keating, some of his students founded their on "dead poet society"。

Neil came to stage to do hat he liked to do ithout his

father's agreement, for his father do not allo him to act.

Tod told the girl ho had boyfriend that he loved her so much, and rote her a poet.

They did hat they liked to do, and they ere happy. But other teachers and students' parents ere not happy about that, exspecially Neil's father. When he found his son ent to act a buffoonithout his agreement, he as so angry. He anted Neil to

transfer to another school, for he thought it as Mr Keating's

fault. But, Neil didn't ant to. Then, one night, Neil killed

himself. Neil died. Mr Keating became the one to be blame. And he as fired. Before he as leaving, he smailed. Because he

kne his students imbeded his mind deeply into their thoughts. That's orth it!

"Poetry, beauty, romance and love, these are hat e stay

live for", yes, e are just a person, not a product. We live on the earth ith our on passion. Without do hat e like to do, I perfer I have never lived. So, Neil choose to die. Neil as

not born to be a doctor as his father thought, he like acting. He killed himself in the end, in fact, it's his father killed

him. Just like the actor's lines in the 3 Idiots:"It's not

suicide, it's murdered"。 Parents regarded the school as heaven, but to the students, it's hell. Parents alays think things usetheir on minds. They never think for their chindren: Are they like it? hat they like to do? They alays think that become a

doctor or engineer ill be much honour. They never consider

that their children might be not like it. They just kno that

become a doctor or engineer ill earn a lot of money and have agood life. They alays think they are right.

But, sometimes, they are rong. Absolutely rong!

Mr keating, the captain,ho anted to change the

eduation system of the school and change the mind of

parents, but failed. For me,I think he did not.I think it ill come true one day, also in my conutry.

It is a valuable moive for us to atch, and to learn.

电影《死亡诗社》观后感英文版<一> (篇六)

There are certain films that can heavily shock your soul, then elicit your thinking, and finally change your life. No doubt Dead Poets Society is one of these infrequent films. It is a film about a teacher and his students. It is a film about perseverance and change. It is a film about love and cruelty.

The film is set in the United States in 1959. It shos us a series of things hich happened to Mr.Keating and the young boys in Wilton Preparatory School.

Mr.John Keating is certainly the main character of this film. He is a respectable teacher ith a high self-cultivation. He has an advanced conception hich is different from tranditional educatin. The other to main characters are Neil, a boy ho is keen on performing, and Todd, a boy ith a little shyness. From Todd, I see ho a boy gros into a man.

The film starts ith the opening ceremony of Wilton Preparatory School. Todd, a shy boy, starts his school life ith his roommate, Neil. On the first lesson, their taecher, Mr.Keating, just told them ‘Seize the day, make your life extraordinary’。 He reads Whitman’s poet Oh Captain! My Captain. He taught the students to sim against the steam and to be themselves but not to perform. Students regard Mr.Keating as a different teacher.

Neil rebuilds the ‘Dead Poets Society’。 The menbers fall in love ith poets, as ell as Todd. When Mr.Keating asks students to try riting a poem, Todd has no idea. Mr.Keating is quite angry. With Mr.Keating’s stimulation, the youngster first time shos great talent, reading his on poem loudly.

On the evening of Todd’s birthday, he talks about his birthday present hich is the same every year and his brother ,ho is so excellent that makes him feel inferior, ith Neil, ith sadness and a little self-mockery on his face. Neil encourages him a lot. Finally, Todd breaks up the disgusting present. Todd smiles to Neil, from the bottom of his heart.

Neil has a sading ending. After performing on the stage, Neil’s father takes him home and arns him again. He just ants his son to be a doctor. Feeling despairing, in the midmight, Neil commits suicide ith a gun. Both Neil’s parents and the school think that Mr.Keating is the only reason for Neil’s death and decide to fire him. A second before Mr.Keating leaves the classroom, Todd stands up on the desk for his captain, ith the menbers of Dead Poets Society folloed. At that time, Todd thros out his recreance and becomes a real man.

That is the end of this film. I have to say that Neil’s death is a certain event, hether there is a ‘John Keating’ or not. It is not hard to see the long distance beteen ideality and reality. What Mr.Keating said and taught just strengthens the conflict beteen Neil’s heart and traditional conception. Neil despairs, but Todd doesn’t. We can see that Todd learns a lot from Neil and Mr.Keating, such as optimist, perseverance, courage and many other qualities hich he doesn’t have before. So he stands up, and dares to shout hat he thinks.

I love the boy named Todd and his groth. I love the teacher called Captain and his freedom. I love the beauty of dream, as ell as the cruelty of reality. The film is not only a profound story but also a sincere advice. Seize the day, make your life extraodinary. We just need to be ourselves and gro up step by step, ith a clear conscience and a tenacious spirit, like a boy gros into a man.
