　　I ould like to build on my solid educationand experience as an engineer for a Ph.D. Degree in computer science at adistinguished university. I ish in particular to be trained at an advancedlevel in a specialized area that related to algorithm and mathematics. Myultimate goal is to become a professor teaching computer science at a Chineseuniversity. I believe that advanced training in a quality graduate program illhelp me realize the goal.

　　I spent my undergraduate life in MinzuUniversity of China hich is famous for its high quality teaching and the uniquefeature of multinational culture. During my four years’ study in computerscience and technology, I as enrolled in a full range of basic coursesincluding Programming Languages, Data Structure, Higher Mathematics, Principlesof Electric Circuits and Netorks. With a sophisticated understanding of thesecourses, I have been ell positioned to appreciate the basic theories ofcomputer science. I as extremelyinterested in algorithms design and mathematics and scored highly in most ofthem. My GPA as consistently in the top 10% in my department. Furthermore, asrecognition of my academic achievements, I as aarded the national scholarshipin the first year and the second prize scholarship in the second year.

　　In 2009, after finishing my undergraduatestudy, I passed the competitive graduate entrance examination and as acceptedby the Cognitive Science Department in school of Information Science andTechnology in Xiamen University hich lies in the top 10 universities and itsCognitive Science is outstanding in China. In the first year of my graduatestudy, I attended a series of specialized courses such as Advanced ArtificialIntelligence, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing and Computer Visionhich idened my horizon and deepened my understanding in computer science. Ialso distinguished myself by my academic record and on the second prizescholarship every year.

　　Through the long-term learning in computerscience, I found that the technology related strongly to logical thinking likealgorithm and mathematics fascinates me most. I actively took every possiblechance to obtain the algorithm knoledge and practice my programming skills. Inorder to complete the curriculum design in 2006, I accomplished the basicdesign and functions of a simple library management system and the teacher gaveme high score. In 2007, I cooperated ith other to classmates and implementeda simple ATM system hich as based on the CS structure. Some techniques suchas database, data communication and multi-thread technique involved in thesystem and it can achieve more than one person to login and operate accurately.

　　In 2009, I orked as an internship in an ITcompany hich as devoted to constructing a heuristic search platform. Theirproducts included spider, vertical search system and so on. My task asprogramming in C language in spider to obtain the data on Internet. Thispractice experience broaden my horizon in the application of computer scienceand improved my programming skills much more. In the meanhile, I learned a lotin the abilities of cooperation, communication and expressing. The CTO speakhighly of my initiative, consciousness and confidence.

　　In 2010, during the lab experience, I cameinto touch ith image processing for the first time. The experiment presented anovel method for nature scene images classification via partially connectedneural netork hich didn’t need any feature extraction. Hoever, the size ofthe images must be the same. So in the experiment I used to methods ofinterpolation and continuation to adjust the sizes of the images. The result ofthe experiment as satisfactory and finally published on the journal of XiamenUniversity. The image processing relied on much knoledge related to algorithmand mathematics hich suits me in particular. Afterards, I learned more aboutthis area and make a decision to explore it in depth.

　　Apart from learning, I participated in someextra-curriculum activities especially the volunteering. In the first year ofmy graduate life, I joined a department under the college’s postgraduateassociation. There I organized a lot of interesting activities such as qualitydevelopment activities and outdoor cross country challenge to relieve ourresearch pressure. The volunteering as the most important activity in ourdepartment. We held a special program named Ri-Xin Plan in Chinese hich meantrene yourself everyday to help the lo-grade students in their study and life.The program as highly praised by the students as ell as the leaders of thecollege and it as still going on no.We also ent to the specialeducation school to help the kids ho had a mental retardation and play iththem. In the second year, I as elected as the leader of the department and organizeda series of volunteer activities included the marathon volunteer activities. Witha strong sense of responsibility, I made a remarkable job.

　　I believe the overseas learning experiencecan provide me advanced studies especially in my interesting area of imageprocessing and enrich my life experience. With the training that goes into sucharea, I think I ill be able to take great strides toards fulfilling myprofessional objective—to be an excellent professor and researcher in computer science.
